Behind The Door
Peekaboo patrols the apartment from a gap nobody remembers leaving open. He leads with the nose, confirms every witness, and keeps one paw ready for a quiet withdrawal. The door is never fully opened; that would end the assignment. Dinner, visitors, and unexplained bags receive equal attention. If discovered, he blinks once and becomes ordinary furniture with whiskers.
